Editorial Standards

The Montana Statesman blog holds itself to the same standards as our main publication.

How we report

  • Every post is built on facts we can check. We link to the sources we used at the end of each article so readers can check them too.
  • Quotes come only from published interviews, company records or our own reporting, and we say where they came from.
  • We do not accept payment for coverage. If a post ever involves a business relationship, we will say so plainly.
  • Profiles are about how businesses were built. They are not endorsements or investment advice.

Corrections

We fix errors of fact quickly and in the open. To report one, email contact@montanastatesman.com with the post link, the error and, if you can, a source showing the correct information.

An editor reviews each request. When an error is confirmed, we correct the post and add a dated note at the bottom explaining the change. Typos and broken links may be fixed without a note. We do not delete posts to hide mistakes.

Correction log

No corrections have been issued yet. Future corrections will be listed here with the date, the post and what changed.
